Thank you all for the gifts and messages today in honor of my diary pick!
We've been busy watching the bird nest right outside the kitchen on our patio awning. They come back every year to the same place and build a nest on top of the metal arms which are closed.
Good thing Huey stays in the house because the other day when he and Mom were outside the birds tried to dive-bomb him! Huey is always bringing in yard debris because it sticks to his hair, so wouldn't it be interesting if a bird got stuck to him?
Speaking of birds, Mom did some volunteer work with some co-workers last week at a veggielution community farm and took pictures of the Hen House and the male peacocks. One male peacock flirted by showing off his gorgeous plumage! Mom wishes he wasn't in the shade at the time and her camera phone didn't capture the colors too well.
Well, I gotta get back to enjoying my day and say goodbye to Mom while she heads back to work from her lunch break.
Thanks for stopping by!
Love, Riley

A couple of months ago, MASTER ZACK and MISS ZOEY sent us two ITCH wall scratchers from SQUARE CAT HABITAT!
We waited a few weeks for Dad to hang them up but we had not been seen scratching them since. Last night, I scratched one of them in front of Mom but the camera was in the other room. I decided to repeat my performance for Mom tonight and this time the camera was in the same room!
They look really cool on the wall. We've just been very secretive about using them!
Thanks again Zack and Zoey!
Love,
Riley

I made it to SAMOA'S list of dreamboats today, along with Enzo and Nike! Reebok is already Dreamboat #25, so now all the boys in this family are on her list.
I know Samoa assigned me the letter "b" because she thinks I'm bodacious, among other things!
Thank you, Samoa!

What a week of celebration I'm having. Monday was my Gotcha Day, today I'm Diary of the Day, and tomorrow is my 7th Catster Anniversary.
Thank you for all the cool forever stars, rosettes, special gifts, pawmails, friend requests, comments, and memento from Tundra. You're the best cat pals!
Mom was out shopping today and found out that a PetSmart is opening in our neighborhood. That is the one store that has been the farthest from our house so now she has another place to drag Huey to so they can shop for us.
Another year is coming to an end, so it's time for all of us to start thinking about our New Year's Resolution(s) and see if we can stick to them!
Thanks, again!
Love, Riley

Thanks to everycat who sent us all the mistletoes this past weekend. A whole lot of kissing has been going on! We hope you had a very merry Christmas and are still enjoying the holiday season.
Thanks Zeeke & family, Tate, and Tyson for reminding me early this morning that it was my Gotcha Day! I guess you can say I was an after-Christmas special!
Mom remembers the day she saw me at the adoption fair and then called Dad to tell him she was bringing me home. She brought a carrier with her so she must've been on a mission! I was already named Riley by my rescuer and kept that name.
While in the car on the way home, I stuck my paw through the carrier door and kept swatting at Mom to try to get her to tell me where we were going. When we got home, I acted like I had been here for years.
Anyway, I guess I need to show you what was in the big box that I wrote about in my last diary. It's a short, double-tunnel cat tree. But, it gets even more exciting because after that, Mom could not pass up the sales she came across at local pet stores, so we got two more tall cat trees!
Thanks to everycat for your friendship. My whole family is looking forward to another year of fun with you!

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that I like Huey the most. We just love fighting and making up right afterwards! His smelly paws when he comes home from playing at the park is better than catnip!
As soon as Huey was allowed to sleep on my parents' bed, none of us cats wanted to be on it when he was there. Who can blame us?
Things have settled down now, so Pebbles, Enzo and I are back on the bed along with Huey! After awhile it gets too warm for Huey so he alternates between the bed, the carpeted floor and the cooler bathroom tile. I sure wish he'd make up his mind!
I think Huey gets a little jealous though when I knead my mom's arm cuz' he has to come right up and watch me closely with his chin on mom.
You may be thinking "awwww" but I'm thinking "slobber".
Love,
Riley

Because of you, my friends, my birthday has turned out swell! You kept me well fed, well kissed, well dressed, well hydrated, well entertained, and well wished! Thank you all so much!
When Mom got home from work, she opened one of the windows so we could get some fresh air. That's when I discovered that a few neighbors are trying to convince me that I should hire them to provide some additional birthday entertainment.
One neighbor has some big tent over his entire house. I might enjoy playing in his big jumpee after he gets rid of the termites.
Another neighbor is strumming his guitar in the backyard singing something called karoake, but since I didn't hear "Happy Birthday" in any of his songs I wouldn't hire him. I do think he's in love though.
The family next door is getting ready to move, so they might be good party noisemakers.
Nah!!! I think I'll stick to my family and Catster friends, because they are the best and all I need to have fun.
Thanks again for making my birthday special!
Love,
Riley

Tonight, Mom found a ladybug crawling on the kitchen floor. She said it was good luck, so she grabbed a napkin to pick it up to take outside but it flew off the napkin.
Well, good thing I was around because I jumped on top of the fridge to tell her it was dancing near the light on the ceiling! It finally flew down on the side of the fridge and Pebbles checked it out.
Mom took pictures and then grabbed a napkin again to carefully wrap it up this time, opened the patio door slightly, stuck her hand out the door, opened the napkin, and saw the ladybug fly away. Done deal!?
Then Mom goes to the computer to look up information on ladybugs and to look at the pictures she took to see how many spots it had. It looked like it had one big spot and maybe a smaller one too. Something was tickling her nose so when she put her fingers to her nose that something flew off! It startled her so she screamed and then realized it was the ladybug! Obviously, it did fly away--back on her!
Dad, Huey and I went to see why she screamed. So now, the ladybug is somewhere in the room. Since I jumped up on the desk, Mom told me to help her look for it but I gave up and left.
The ladybug reappeared on the desk in front of Mom, so she grabbed a piece of plastic wrap she found in the drawer and carefully trapped it. Yep, it was the same ladybug, for sure!
Mom walked it outside this time and released it in the best place...Mercy's garden. So she thinks! It's nighttime and only the patio light was on.
Or maybe, just maybe......Mercy, was that you?
Love,
Riley

Yesterday my brother Nike was a diary pick and today it's my turn!
These days, everything at our house is about the dog, who is always in my face every chance he gets. As you can tell, he's allowed on the couch, but right now he can't jump on it without help. He gets jealous when I'm sitting next to Mom so we let him pout so I could have my quality time, but it won't be long before he'll be able to get up there himself!
Thank you for your comments, rosettes, and pawmails today!
Love,
Riley
