Dear Diary,
Today has been a furry sad day for me. My dear, sweet boyfuriend, Fuzz, made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. Fuzz was a handsome orangie boy and was such a love. He was gentle with his brofurs and sisfurs as well as his human furmily. We were a happy couple for over 3 years. I will miss my sweetie very much. I feel so empty right now. Someday I'll join Fuzz at the Bridge, and we will be together forever.
Tears and purrs,
Clara

Meowmy had a big performance last night. She came home with some beautiful flowers, which she put into a tall vase.
This morning, I decided it was my turn to play a concerto. I leaped up onto the MIDI piano, which inadvertently had been left on. The opening of my solo piece was low, loud and dissonant—reminiscent of a certain pivotal moment in the song “Charlie Rutlage” by Charles Ives. After a few minutes of silence in the style of John Cage, I continued my concerto into the higher octaves of the instrument, producing combinations similar to the complex, shimmering harmonies of Olivier Messiaen. During a brief reprise in the low register, meowmy started flashing lights at me. That’s when I cut my concerto short and skipped directly to the coda. I walked up to the top of the keyboard and jumped off. It was a brilliant performance!
Where are my flowers, meowmy?

Dear Diary,
I have wonderpur news! There is a handsome orange kitty, who lives in Avon Lake, Ohio, named Fuzz. Fuzz and I have known each other for about 4 months now, but we’ve been just furiends. However, I’ve known for awhile that I liked Fuzz a lot—he is SO cute! *BLUSH* Well, today he asked me to be his girlfuriend! I’m just a shy orangie girl, and I said YES! I am so happy! I am giddy with excitement!
Clara has a boyfuriend, and his name is FUZZ! Thank you Fuzz!
I don’t know if I’ll be able to sleep tonight...
Sincerely,
Clara

As many of you may already know from a previous diary entry, I am named after the 19th-century German pianist and composer, Clara Wieck Schumann. Well, this morning, I proved to meowmy that I really am a pianist! You see, meowmy has a MIDI piano that she uses for music input into her computer. Yesterday, she did a music project and forgot to turn off the keyboard when she was done. This morning around 5:15, meowmy was awakened by the beautiful sounds of me playing the piano. Over the next 45 minutes, every time I shifted my weight, sweet tinkly tones emanated from the musical instrument. Meowmy was impressed that for a cat that’s a little bit fat, I actually have a lovely, delicate touch! MOL!
Sincerely,
Clara

I’ve been tagged by the gorgeous green-eyed girl, Miss Jazzie, to share 5 things for which I am thankful.
1. I am thankful that meowmy heard me crying on her porch, fed me, and ultimately rescued me on Friday the 13th of June 2008.
2. I am thankful for my home, where I live indoors in warmth and security.
3. I am thankful for the delicious food I receive here. Meowmy says I’m getting a little bit fat! MOL!
4. I am thankful for my kitty bed by the bedroom window, where I can see the backyard and not be bothered by the other cats.
5. I am thankful for my family. Meowmy takes care of me; Mathis, Dusty and Belle amuse me; and Entrechat is fun to annoy. MOL!

I’ve been tagged by my sisfur Entrechat.
Here’s how the game goes... Write 7 facts about yourself in your diary. Then tag 7 other kitties with a paw mail or rosette to read your diary and play the game.
1. I am named after Clara Wieck Schumann—the famous 19th-century pianist and composer—the wife of Robert Schumann.
2. I have long tufts of fur on the tips of my ears.
3. Like my brofur, Figaro, I shed a lot. Unlike my brofur, I hate to be brushed!
4. I despise getting my claws clipped! I growl, fuss and bite at meowmy when she starts clipping my claws. In spite of this, somehow meowmy always succeeds in clipping them. GOL! (Growling out loud!)
5. I like to sleep a lot—alone!
6. A couple weeks ago, Dusty & I accidentally surprised each other, and we got into a brief tussle. Awhile later, Meowmy noticed something on my face that looked like a piece of fuzz. It was actually one of Dusty’s claws that had become lodged into the side of my nose. It was in deep, and meowmy had to carefully pull it out. Fortunately, my nose healed just fine.
7. I love my new home! I am (for the most part, MOL) safe here. Meowmy takes care of me, and I love the food! Life is good!

I’ve been tagged by my orangie pal Fuzz to play this fun game.
1. What is your favorite Olympic sport?
I do not like sports! However, I do like the preparation for sports—namely I like to eat and sleep! MOL!
2. Which do you prefer—summer or winter?
Summer. On summer nights, when it’s cooler outside, meowmy opens the window by my kitty bed as well as the front and back doors (with the security screens locked). I love to see, hear and smell what’s happening outside!
3. What is the quirkiest thing you do?
I willingly let meowmy clean the goop out of the corners of my eyes. However, I dislike all other kinds of primping, and I will slap and bite at meowmy if she tries to brush me, clip my claws or fuss with me in any other way.
4. Do you have a crush on any other kitties?
Certainly not! I growl if any of the other cats get too close to me! I like to be left alone!
5. What is your favorite rosette or zealie, and why?
I love the stars and diamonds, because they stay on my page furever. Sometimes I like to reread the messages, and they bring back memories!
Purrs to you all!

Dear Diary,
I got frisky this morning, and I wakened meowmy by running in and out of the bedroom. Meowmy thinks I may be younger than she originally thought. (I’m not telling. MOL!)
It’s been a little over 9 weeks since meowmy rescued me. At first I just wanted to be left alone. I mostly lived under the bed, where it was cool and out of the way. After a couple weeks, I started spending some time on the cedar chest. Meowmy thought I must be an older cat, because I wasn't very active.
Well, over the past few weeks, I’ve become more adventurous. I come out of the bedroom a lot more. I have found the piano and the cardboard scratcher. I jump up to the kitty bed on the dresser, where I have a good view of the backyard. I have gained some weight, and I’m feeling better. (I love evening dinner!) I am happy in my new home!
Sincerely,
Clara
